I've had another busy couple of weeks finishing off and doing returns for the online hair advert and have moved onto a new project: sourcing costumes for a TV advert for an online betting company. Luckily the bank holiday weekend has fallen mid-project and has left me with some spare time to (hopefully) to do some much needed sewing.
My online shop is always open and I accept custom made orders.
Have you got a garden/balcony/outdoor space? Or do you know someone who has? Why not get some handmade bunting to decorate it for the summer...

It's been a busy few weeks with creative work; sourcing clothes for an online hair campaign and prepping costumes for English National Ballet 'Lest We Forget' at The Barbican Centre, so I haven't had much spare time to get sewing some new products for my Etsy shop, even though I have a million ideas in my head waiting to be made! I did squeeze in the time to make some very bright bunting for my youngest niece (pictured below all packaged up and ready to post) and some personalised bunting out of some beautiful pink polka dot fabric as a christening gift for the daughter of a friend of a friend.
if you've got a special occasion coming up that you need a gift for, take a look online to get some ideas and commission your own one off piece.

In my last post I mentioned my next project was to make a bumble bee backpack, a friend to go with the ladybird ones I'm selling online. Success! Project complete, bumble bee kids backpacks can now be bought online following this link...

I've already been commissioned by a friend to make a larger size one for her and she's requested some turtle backpacks for her nephews too! It's about time I did something that little boys might like. I've also been asked to make some bespoke bunting as a christening gift so it's going to be a busy few weeks fitting all this around other freelance creative work.
If you've got some birthdays or celebrations coming up involving little people, why not go online to Etsy, search Hairnet Bonbons and see what handmade treats I have for sale, or even commission your own bespoke item.

Back in October I was racking my brain trying to decide on something I could make for my 20 month old niece for Christmas, and eventually came up with the elaborate idea of making her a mini backpack that looked like a ladybird, from scratch! After lots of experimenting I managed it and had it wrapped up for her to open on Christmas Day.
With all the lovely comments from family and friends about it, and the surprise of how successful the backpack was, I decided to start selling my handmade fabric goods online and so arrived my Etsy Shop a couple of weeks ago as mentioned in my previous post.
Over the last few days I've been working on making some more ladybird bags and am pleased to say they are now available to buy online...

I am now working on making a bumble bee backpack and thinking of other animals to recreate in bag form so keep your eyes peeled on here for updates, or find me on Facebook and/or Twitter by searching Hairnet Bonbons.
