Back in October I was racking my brain trying to decide on something I could make for my 20 month old niece for Christmas, and eventually came up with the elaborate idea of making her a mini backpack that looked like a ladybird, from scratch! After lots of experimenting I managed it and had it wrapped up for her to open on Christmas Day.

Here's me modelling one of my ladybird backpacks at the bandstand on Hampstead Heath

With all the lovely comments from family and friends about it, and the surprise of how successful the backpack was, I decided to start selling my handmade fabric goods online and so arrived my Etsy Shop a couple of weeks ago as mentioned in my previous post.

Over the last few days I've been working on making some more ladybird bags and am pleased to say they are now available to buy online...

I am now working on making a bumble bee backpack and thinking of other animals to recreate in bag form so keep your eyes peeled on here for updates, or find me on Facebook and/or Twitter by searching Hairnet Bonbons.

Over the weekend I'll be adding more items to the shop, all handmade by my own (or my Mum's) fair hands!

I also have a brand spanking new Hairnet Bonbons Facebook page which links up and promotes all my handmade goodness:
